The event was cancelled or moved

If the event is cancelled, there is nothing to do for most orders. Once we approve the cancellation, you're refunded automatically. The one case that needs you is an order the organizer had already refunded before that approval; see below.

Cancelled

Cancelling an event is a request the organizer sends us. We review it, usually within 3 to 5 business days, and ticket sales are paused while we do. Tickets already sold still work until we decide.

When we approve it, every order is refunded to the card it was paid with, including tickets that were transferred. Refunds start on their own within a few hours. You get an email that says "Your refund for" the event.

Both the ticket price and the service fee come back to you. The one exception: if the event was cancelled because of a natural disaster, civil disturbance or another impediment nobody could foresee, you get the ticket price back but not the service fee. Your refund email says which.

If the organizer had already refunded your ticket price on their own before we approved the cancellation, that was an ordinary refund and the service fee wasn't part of it. You can still ask for the fee back from your ticket page, within 90 days of the cancellation, unless the cause was outside the organizer's control.

Your bank usually shows a refund within 5 to 10 business days. See How long does a refund take to reach my card?

Moved more than 6 months

If the event's new date is more than 6 months later than the date was when you bought, you can ask for the service fee back. We email you when this happens. The subject says the event "has moved: you can ask for the service fee back".

  1. Open your ticket, from the link in that email or in your ticket email.
  2. Tap Request a service-fee refund. You have 90 days from the date change.
  3. We review it, usually within 5 business days. Your ticket page then says "Requested on" the date. If we approve it, the fee goes back to the card you paid with.

Your ticket still works for the new date. If you can't make it, ask the organizer for the ticket price back. Whether you get it is up to their refund policy. See Contact the organizer.

Moved 6 months or less

Your ticket works for the new date, and the service fee isn't refunded. If you can't make the new date, ask the organizer for a refund of the ticket price.
