Why is there a sales limit on my account?
New organizers can sell up to $10,000 in paid tickets until their first paid event has happened. The limit lifts by itself 72 hours after your first paid event ends.
What counts
- Ticket prices only, not our fee.
- Paid tickets only. Free tickets are never counted.
- Refunded tickets still count, so selling and refunding can't reset it.
A free-only event doesn't lift the limit. A cancelled event doesn't either.
Where to see it
Go to Settings → Payouts. The Sales limit card is marked Starting limit and shows how much of your limit you've used, with the note "Free tickets are never counted." At 80% the card is highlighted. Once lifted, it says None.
When you reach it
Paid sales stop until the limit lifts or is raised. The card says Paid sales paused. Fans see: "This event can't take more card payments right now. Try again later or contact the organizer." Free tickets keep working.
Ask for a higher limit
- Go to Settings → Payouts and tap Request a higher limit.
- Fill in Venue, Past events on other sites, Instagram or other links, Expected ticket sales and Limit you need. Add Anything else if it helps.
- Tap Send request.
The card then says Request in review, with when you sent it, what you asked for, and "We'll email you when it's decided". We review every request and email the owner and admins when it's decided. Only an owner or admin can ask.
Why it exists
Stripe pays you on its own schedule: typically 7 to 14 days after your first sale, then about 2 business days after each sale. The limit protects fans from someone selling an event that isn't real.
