Can I run a free event?
Yes. Free events cost you and your fans nothing, and you can publish one today without setting up payouts.
- Create your event as usual.
- Under Tickets, tap Add free ticket, or type 0 as the price.
- Tap Publish.
Under the ticket the form shows Free for fans and "Free tickets carry no fee". The publish checklist says "An event with only free tickets can be published now."
Things to know
- You don't need Stripe for a free event. Payouts are only for paid tickets. Settings → Payouts says so: "Free events don't need this. You can publish them today."
- Each person can get up to 10 free tickets per event per day. The event page says so. Paid tickets aren't limited.
- Free tickets never count toward the new-organizer sales limit.
- A free-only event doesn't lift that limit either. Only a paid event does.
- You can mix free and paid ticket types in one event. The event then needs payouts set up before you can publish it.
- Free tickets scan at the door like any other ticket.
